Whirlpool oakdale Minnesota Review

In March of 2014 I bought a Whirlpool microwave (Model # WMH31017AB-1). In December 2015, one of the door switches was accidentally pushed in while the door was open. When I pulled the switch out, there was a u201cpopu201d and a burning smell. The high voltage transformer and the diode were burned out because of a flaw in the design. The cost to replace parts and have it repaired is equal to or greater than a new microwave. I wrote a letter to Whirlpool. They called me on the phone and left a voicemail saying, “I do appreciate the letter and I certainly do apologize for the concern you experienced with this unit. I have documented about a complaint on your behalf in regards to the failure. Unfortunately we would not be able to assist financially with repair of the unit as it is outside the manufacturer’s warranty.”” I was forced to buy a new microwave less than 2 years after the first. I’ve now paid twice as much because the design didn’t have a safeguard that would prevent this from happening. Instead of doing the right thing

they are hiding behind the fact that it was out of warranty.”
