David Gunning and Tom Martin from the FL office, along with Mike from the NY office are scumbags, they have a pretty good scam going ripping people off, I wish I would have seen some remarks from others before attempting to buy from them. David explained their process which wasn’t too risky, but they never explained that they would not sell the property if you didn’t buy 15 houses from them before they even sold the first one. David and I discussed a long term plan, he agreed that it would make sense to flip one property, if that worked out for both parties we would do another, then a couple more individual properties before discussing going bigger, he never explained that was not how they operated. I purchased 1 property in Detroit through David and after about 1 week of having the property, some guy named Mike called me from the New York office and started talking about how foreign investors are buying up bulk packages and we should be doing the same, had no idea this guy was a crook at the time. I then spoke with a realtor named John Roberts that they set me up with in regard to the property, he seemed like he might be legitimate as he found a buyer who supposedly wanted the house and needed a loan to buy it but would put 10K down which I agreed to. Mike called me back and said no, that is not how they operate and wanted cash buyers to do the deal as it would be quicker and better. The following week, Mike called and said he had a cash buyer and would be sending over the paperwork. nI received the paper work and along with it an order to buy 15 more houses, which I had not agreed to do, and the person to contact was Tom. I spoke with Tom and explained what the plan was when I agreed to purchase the house with David and was not going to buy 15 more properties. He then had Mike call me and I explained this to Mike, eventually Mike stopped calling me to buy more houses and said he was not involved with the one property because that is not his function with the company. From that point on Tom was my point of contact but never wanted to be dealing with me, every time I called he was either not in or on the phone, I have spoken with him roughly 3 or 4 times in regard to the property and have not heard back from anyone other then the woman who answers the phone. I tried to check the property but didn’t have much to go by since they know nothing about it, I reached out across many sites to try and find someone to assist me with it. I have researched Detroit, there are good opportunities there. nEventually I found a relator who assisted me with the property, it is a dilapidated property and not worth what I paid for it, the realtor gave me contact info for the county office there. I contacted the county office and the house had been foreclosed on by the county since last September for tax liens since the bankruptcy was finalized. I discovered they filed the quit claim deed before I even sent them the money to purchase the property but the house was not mine and if I wanted it I would need to pay another $7,900 to buy it back. So, now I own nothing, never did since it was in possession of the county and they ripped me off. There is no reason for people to rip anyone off in real estate since there is so much out there. The people at Nationwide REO Group are scum and you do not want to work with them, do not believe their words or you will lose your money and waste your time.
