I build a home 1n 1990 and used all Hurd windows. The windows started failing , fogging up, after 5 years and after 10 years all windows had failed. I tried to get them replaced under warranty but they said the company had changed hands but kept the same name so they wouldn’t honor the warranty. I went ahead and used their casement and sliding windows anyway as replacements because they fit my frames. These are all expensive wood windows. And the new Hurd company offered a 20 year free replacement on any failures. This all took place around 2005. But guess what after 2 to 3 years my new windows started failing. I called Hurd to get then replaced and they said once again that the company went bankrupt and the new owners weren’t honoring the warranty from the old owners. Yet they are still called Hurd Windows. They had no interest in helping me. Not even a discount on replacing the failed windows. This is a bad company making bad products. Do not use them or you to will be sorry. They have had three owners in 20 years and have the same name but don’t honor and previous warrantys.
