Horne Heating and Cooling was paid for an annual contract for system tune-ups and then refused to do the tune-up unless I paid them to assess my system for unnecessary work. They contacted me twice. I did not reach out to them. When the employee came, he immediately tried to go through my house and see if he could find anything wrong so he could charge me an assessment fee. I told him to stop and do the job I already paid him for. He said he would but he didn’t. I came outside and found he had dismantled my breaker box without my permission. I had an electrician come out who said Horne’s assessment was inaccurate and there was nothing wrong with my breaker box. I got that in writing. When I told the Horne HVAC person to leave and refused to pay the ridiculous assessment fee, I caught him on the side of my house tinkering with my system a significant time later. I had to threaten to call the police to get him to leave. He told me that I shouldn’t get mad at him for something his company makes him do. I think this happens to people without them even knowing it. Please be wary of signing a contract with them and do not let them in your house unsupervised. Don’t go for the bait and switch. This company reminds me of those HVAC companies exposed on 20/20 and Dateline. If you don’t have a problem when they come, they will make sure you have one when they leave. Warning: This company may pay a company to do reviews for them.
