I bought 4 dynamite crape myrtles that were said to grow in my planting zone. They died. They’re not coming back. I did some research… these trees do not grow in NY. They start having problems growing when you’re North of Virginia. When I spoke to the phone representative she mentioned that she didn’t think the trees grew in the Northeast either but they post that they can because of some external source that dictates growing zones for their website. After throwing in the 90 day no refund policy in my face (these trees didn’t come back after the winter), my attempts to discuss fairness in the fact that I have not seen ANY crape trees in NY were unsuccessful in getting satisfaction. They have a supposed satisfied client comment on the Crape Myrtle Tree website from NY. Don’t believe it!! These trees don’t grow naturally here (I haven’t checked the Bronx Botanical Garden to see if some shrub PHD is growing them under a heat lamp, however). Don’t believe the zone ratings!!! With a 90 day no return policy (guaranteed not to cover seeing if ANYTHING makes it through the Winter in NY), suspected bogus client comments, and that zone misinformation, you have a Ripoff on your hands. Not to mention they did send me some chewed up apple trees loaded with blight. They did replace those though because I reported that out of the box. The replacements came back easily in the Spring because THEY’RE NATIVE TO NEW YORK. Unlike the Crape Myrtles, which weren’t cheap. Crappy sales too… Someone needs to check out their colored tree pics for Adobe touch ups… I’ve never seen color like that in Nature.
