This is an email that I sent to the corporate office of Fairfield Properties concerning the Mansfield, MA West Village. I signed a lease one year ago December 5th, 2008. I received many concessions that were deducted from the monthly rent to end up with a total of $1933.00 for a months rent for one entire year. That is what my husband and I agreed to when we signed our lease with Karen McCool, their representative. She did the entire figuring, filled out all the necessary paper work and had it checked by Aaron Allsop, the property manager at the time. $1933.00 is our prorated amount with all the concessions given to us. When all was said and done she told us our rent monthly would be $1933.00 and some change. In September I received a letter stating that I owed $109.47 more a month. No warning, no clue as to why this was being done to us. We were told by Deanne Martinez-Jacobson that we never took the concession. This from her email to me . I can see where you get the $1931.87 which would be correct if you actually took the $3613.50 and prorated that over a 12 month lease term. But according to the ledger, it does not look that way from the day you moved in. She is so wrong. We were told by Karen McCool that that is exactly what we were getting!! Prorated over a 12 month lease term to end up with $1933.00 a month for every month for one year! Karen McCool is the same person who had to rewrite our renters agreement three times! Three times we had to go to the office and sign a new renters agreement because she kept making mistakes! The same person who told us we would receive our $1000.00 Visa card at our lease signing and then said oh sorry we dont have it but it should be here before Christmas but did not receive it til more than 4 weeks after. The same person who did not notify us that we would be responsible for a $300.00 deposit on our electricity. The same person who did not tell us we were responsible for the water and sewerage bill until the day we signed our lease. Do we see a pattern here? What exactly did she mess up on our lease that we are now being told that we owe more money for the last three months of our lease on our rent? I received yet another notice from the office on October 20, 2009, that I owe $409.47. $109.47 from September and another 300.00 for October? It just keeps going up!
