Desert Wide Properties Mesa Arizona Review

I emailed Patrick at Desert Wide Properties regarding a house for my elderly mother. She met all the rental requirements, easily. I was all set to go look at the house when I received a rental application. It stated in the email that there were already two applicants for the rental, and that it would cost a $65 application fee to throw her hat into the ring. They had already collected $65 from the other two applicants. Is this fair? He said that the owner of the house will choose the “winner”” and all application fees are unrefundable. Seriously? How about taking care of one potential customer at a time? This could get very expensive for a potential renter. Even with excellent credit and rental history like my mom. This practice should be 100% illegal

and I am going to contact the proper branch of government to ask them how this scam can go on in Arizona.”
