In 2004 I was shopping for a stove while my kitchen was being built. I fell in love with a floor model GE that was on clearance at Best Buy in Hyannis and opened a Best Buy card per advice from sales associates to get an additional discount and bought it. I was assured that the store will hold it for me until my kitchen floor was completed. I paid $125 initially and 2 or 3 other payments on time every month in good faith and when I went to the store to ask for the stove to be delivered they could not find it. After several other visits I was told that it was bought by a female sales associate who works there, and that it was the last one. I asked them “””how can you sell the same stove to 2 people and still bill me ?” They refused to refund me the money I had already paid
and refused to find me the same model or a stove with similiar features. I was rediculed
insulted and laughed at by sales people in appliance department one who said””””what do you want me to do
go to her house and steal the stove for you?” They tried to sell me inferior models at a higher price. At Home Depot the associates took the time to research on line and found me the exact same model from GE that I eventually bought. Best Buy kept billing me for many more months and when I went to the store to complain they said they have nothing to do with billing and refused a refund. I challenged them to show a delivery slip as this was never delivered to me but instead they reported me for collections and ruined my credit. As a result I had to pay 14% interest on a loan when I refinaced and my credit has been bad since thanks to Best Buy.”
