We responded to a $49 coupon to check our air conditioner. The technician said our water heater was leaking and needed replaced immediately (it was a slow drip and not an emergency). We stupidly agreed without checking them out or getting bids. They charged $1994 to install a water heater we later found the exact model on the Internet for $428 retail! They charged $611 to replace a pressure reducing valve that we found on the Internet for $50 retail! (Who knows if we even needed that). They were gracious enough to give us a 10% discount and a 5% senior discount. What a deal! After checking with local plumbers, we discovered we could have received identical replacements installed in a reasonable amount of time for $800 less (and that is being conservative with our numbers). The company has this nice family picture on the side of their trucks and advertise “let our family help your family.”” I’m sure they live in a nice house
