America’s Locksmith Services – Collingswood, New Jersey Blackwood New Jersey…

I needed to find a locksmith because a tenant was having a lot of trouble getting her doorknob to work. I called America’s Locksmith Services for the Collingswood, NJ area. According to the web site the service call fee is $19 and other fees start at $35. The man who came spent about 15-20 minutes – he opened up the doorknob and cleaned out the mechanism. When he wrote up his invoice (which did not have any company information or phone number on it) he wrote very sloppily so that it was hard to read the dollar amounts and then he calculated the total incorrectly. The service charge was $25 not $19 and he charged $145 for cleaning the lock. According to my calculations the total was $181.90 – he charged $195 to my credit card. When I demanded a refund of the difference between the amount he charged and the amount that should have been charged, the figure was rounded. Instead of getting $13.10 back, I got $13.00. I know that to many people 10 cents doesn’t matter, but it does to me – especially for the principal of the situation. I will never use these people again and I will make sure that everyone I know hears what a rip-off they are.
